Tasker Landscaping-Recent site and landscape improvements on this residence in Gilford were extensive. The property consists of four lots: two lots sloping down to and fronting Lake Winnipesaukee where the residence and carriage house were constructed, and two lots up-slope of the lake, opposite Edgewater Drive, where a raised septic system, electrical generator, and guest parking area were developed. Design work focused on formulating an overall landscape master plan for the two lakeside lots and to secure necessary state and local approvals to construct the proposed break-water, dock, access, and raised beach along the shoreline. Improvements include: coordination of site grading and shaping to create a beach, access from the lake and boat dock to the house, a setting for the house and front entry walk, and a paved auto court; development of a series of yard plantings; construction of a number of granite slab walkways and patios; and construction of a curvilinear granite block wall to create spaces to frame the approach to the main entrance of the house. A radial granite block wall was constructed to frame the access walk to the lake and the beach. Another radial granite block wall and perimeter was constructed to enclose play space for children. An elaborate new lighting scheme washes plants and buildings for accent and security, while a new irrigation system waters plants and the lawn. |
